Illuminated Reliefs

By identifying at least 3 levels of shade, a basic form can be define.

Instead of adding to the canvas to create these shades; I removed from it. By layering the resulting pieces and passing light through it, I’m able to produce a textural and visual experience which is unexpected, stunning, and unique.

Final piece measured 20″ high and 12″ wide with a bare bulb for illumination and a pine base housing all circuits.
